Meet the board!
The AUCAA board consists of six people: four motivated AUC alumni, one AUCSA representative, and AUC’s Alumni & External Relations Officer. Together, they organize professional and social events for alumni, raise money for the AUC Scholarship Fund, and connect alumni with current AUC students.
Chair: Thao Lam (class of 2016)
Thao Lam, class of 2016, is currently a PhD candidate at the Amsterdam Public Health institute. Having never set foot in Europe before coming to AUC, Thao is grateful she chose AUC to be her alma mater. Through the AUC Alumni Association, she hopes to stay engaged with the AUC community and raise funds for the AUC Scholarship Fund to help other students like herself.
AUC’s AERO: Gerylaine Campos
Gerylaine Campos is AUC’s new Alumni and External Relations Officer (AERO). Originally from Aruba, Gerylaine has also lived in the US, London, and South Africa before finally settling in the Netherlands. Gerylaine received her BA in Political Science from Earlham College and her MSc in International Development Studies from the University of Amsterdam. She has a passion for working in higher education institutions, and enjoys connecting communities through groups like UvA Pride. As an alumna of the United World College, Gerylaine looks forward to working in an institution that champions diversity, excellence and sustainability.
General Board Member: Bart Knibbe (Class of 2020)
Bart is an alumnus of the class of 2020. At AUC, he mostly focused on philosophy and political science. He served two terms on the AUC Student Council, one as External Communications Officer, and one as co-Chair. He also helped organize Voices of AUC.
After AUC, Bart completed the Political Science Master program at the University of Amsterdam, with a focus on public policy and governance. He joined the AUCAA board to strengthen and extend AUC’s alumni network, and to give back to the community of current and former students.
AUCSA Representative: Dhruv Gulati (Class of 2024)
Dhruv Gulati, class of 2024, is currently a second year Sciences student, mainly focusing on Earth and Environmental Sciences. This year, he will fulfill the role of the AUCSA representative on the AUCAA board. He is so excited to help organise Alumni events and meet all the students that graduated from AUC! While upholding the AUCSA's pillars, he hopes make an impact on the community beyond AUC.
General Board Member: Arsalan Ali Aga (Class of 2020)
Arsalan Ali Aga, born and raised in Pakistan, is an alumnus of the class of 2020. During his time at AUC he focused on the History and International Relations tracks while at the college. He is also part-Kashmiri. Arsalan is currently working in the non-profit sector, and carries a strong desire to pursue humanitarian work in the future. He hopes to further develop the AUCAA and make a lasting positive impact on the greater AUC community.
